* Una Hotel Tocq has 122 guestrooms, all of which feature modern, Scandinavian style blond beech wood furniture and Frette bed linen. Walls are painted in neutral colors and display small original abstract artwork by architect Aldo Cibic. Floors are carpeted in either red or blue. Small, beech wood side tables have frosted glass tops. Desks have dial-up Internet access. Bathrooms feature large mirrors and white marble surrounds to basins and baths.

Reached from the bar via a crystal staircase, the first floor restaurant has bright yellow and gray walls with modern, abstract art and black ceilings. Outside, a large decking area surrounded by stands of bamboo in cane planters provides alfresco dining in good weather. Buffet breakfast as well as à la carte lunches and dinners are served in the restaurant. As well as the a la carte menu featuring Italian fare such as spaghetti with prawns and asparagus, there are occasional seasonal menus.

* Bar:
Beige banquettes surround the walls under the crystal staircase with its glass balustrade. Here, or on bar stools at the brushed steel bar, local businesspeople take a break with a beer or coffee and small snacks.

Venetian stucco walls in pale lemon and taupe with a curved beech reception desk decorate the lobby of this design hotel. Smartly dressed Italian businesspeople sit at the beige banquettes by the crystal staircase in the bar.

The modern design by Italian architect Aldo Cibic is a highlight of this hotel. Venetian stucco walls in plum, rust, lime, taupe and orange decorate the basement hallway, where five of the six well-equipped meeting rooms cater for the mostly business clientele. Newly pedestrianized Corso Como, two minutes' walk from the hotel features several designer shops. Among them is 10 Corso Como, a beautiful courtyard cafe/bar with a large designer shop, gallery and art bookshop. It is a favorite with Milanese high society.
